Fire doors are a life saving product and therefore should be repaired and maintained correctly to ensure the optimum fire performance of the product.
Our course contains the following learning outcomes
- You will learn the current legislation and guidance for repair and maintenance of fire doors
- Our course content includes fire component identification, test evidence and fields of application in relation to component changes – what you can and can’t do
- You will learn accepted repair techniques for composite, timber and steel fire doors
- You will practice the knowledge and skills you gain on our course in our practical training facility on a variety of different manufacturers fire doors before you use your skills on site
- You will learn about 3rd party auditing and what you would be expected to do on site at an audit
- You will undertake a practical and theoretical assessment to assess your learning of both products, methods of repair and legislation relating to this work role.
Our Practical Training
We have over 45 different fire doors and key fire components in our practical teaching area, ensuring that you get hands on experience on industry leading products. This includes timber, steel and composite fire doors, flat and cross corridors for practical training and assessment.
The course takes place at our training centre in Bury, Greater Manchester and runs across 2 days from 9am – 5pm. You will receive full course details by email once you complete and submit the form.
Please note the completion of a training course alone cannot be evidence of competency, and FDM can only confirm if an individual has attended training and the content of that course.
However, completion of courses may be cited alongside other factors such as experience and observations.
