Fire Door Repair and Maintenance – In person course
This course takes place in Bury, Manchester, across 2 days from 9AM to 5PM.
This course is suitable for any operatives who undertake repairs or maintenance on fire doors. You will learn the law in relation to your personal responsibility for work you carry out, you will learn up to date repair techniques, how to plan and carryout effective maintenance works on fire doors and how to identify, procure and change the correct components to ensure compliance. Fire doors are a lifesaving product and therefore should be repaired and maintained correctly to ensure the optimum fire performance of the product.

Course Content
- You will learn the current legislation and guidance for repair and maintenance of fire doors
- Our course content includes fire component identification, learning to read test evidence and fields of application in relation to component changes
- You will learn accepted repair techniques for composite, timber and steel fire doors
- You will practice the knowledge and skills you gain on our course in our practical training facility on a variety of different manufacturers fire doors before you use your skills on site
- You will learn about 3rd party auditing schemes, and you will undergo some simulated site audits as part of our practical sessions
- You will undertake a practical and theoretical assessment to assess your learning of both products, methods of repair and legislation relating to this work role
Our Practical Training
We have 20 different fire door apertures at the centre with over 50 doors and key fire components in our large practical training area, ensuring that you get hands on experience with industry leading products. This includes timber, steel and composite FD30/FD60 and FD120 fire doors. We have single and double residential and commercial doors and key fire door component rooms to increase your skills and knowledge.
What you will receive
As we are an approved GQA training centre, you will receive a GQA certificate and skills card on successful completion of the course.
