We are delighted to share that we have had a successful start for FDM. Our mission is to elevate Fire Door safety standards and support organisations in navigating the changing regulatory landscape. That mission is now well underway.
Back in February, we opened our doors to our GQA-accredited training facility, the first of its kind in the UK, to offer a variety of fire door courses. We welcomed over 100 individuals from many different organisations, and we were incredibly proud to share our mission and showcase the centre with companies and individuals who are also passionate about improving the safety and compliance of Fire Doors.
We have run over 10 training courses to date (10th April, 2024) and we look forward to continuing to run courses throughout the year and beyond. We have also run over 40 training centre tours, resulting in multiple organisations signing up for future training, including Social Housing employees, Fire Door Inspectors, private companies, fire door manufacturers, locksmiths and the Fire Brigade.
We’ve had incredibly positive feedback so far, and we look forward to welcoming more industry stakeholders to FDM.
“I can say with confidence that this is the go-to practical/theory training centre in the UK. I strongly recommend anyone involved in the fire safety sector in the UK expand their skill set with FDM’s help, industry-leading knowledge, and accredited training courses.” John Merry – R & B Contractors
All FDM courses are designed for practical-minded individuals, blending theory with practical hands-on experience. They underline the importance of the ‘golden thread’ and the risks of changing or substituting components on a fire door.
We would like to thank our partners and suppliers who have provided fire doors and components to help make the FDM training centre the first practical fire door centre in the UK. Having such a range of fire doors and components means that our training will be comprehensive and ensure all attendees have a practical as well as theoretical learning experience.
You can sign up for a course by visiting the booking page on the FDM website.
If you have any questions, would like to book a tour of the centre, or if you would like to discuss potential partnership or collaboration opportunities, please get in touch with Dan Cope, Sales Director at FDM.
